2025 Drivers' Seeding
FAQ's - Seeding
What is the seeding list used for?
The seeding list ranks times established in qualifying by drivers from fastest to slowestÂ
This list is used to determine the order in which crews are set off in qualifying for safety reasons
Each driver's times from qualifying for the past two seasons and qualifying results to-date in the current season are used to determine their seeding
The fastest time on qualifying is converted into a percentage, being the "ideal" of 100%
Each driver's time is then converted into a percentage and ranked against the "ideal" for qualifying for that event
Each driver's top four times (where available) are then averaged to provide that driver's seeding percentage
What happens if a driver does not have a seeding percentage on the chart?
The Clerk of the Course will determine that driver's starting position at his discretion based on the vehicle entered, the driver's track record in other motorsport categoriesÂ
For safety reasons it is not ideal to have faster vehicles starting in amongst the less modified classes and the Clerk of the Course has the right to alter a competitor's start position
What factors affect a driver's seeding?
Drivers for whom there is not much data on record, i.e. less than four events, may see a dramatic rise or fall of their seeding based on the results of one event whereas drivers who have more data on record will see less dramatic changes as they have more data to select their best four results from
